It didn't take long for the new Meezer to find out what everyone's favorite treat is in this house. What is in this stuff anyway? It's like kitty magnets! He was too scared to even want treats the first couple of days, but now its day 6, and he says, "Treats? Yum, I'll help myself."We are still trying to come up with a name for him. I kinda like the name Dante because this little kitty is a bit devilish. What do you think we should call him? Any ideas????

A meezer could never be devilish--but that doesn't preclude being named Dante... he he he...
Dante is a great name! I am glad he's getting used to you. We meezers really need to bond with our humans. Eventually when he's ready and that should go slowly play integration is great. Small bursts in safe areas. Temptaions are the best food ever!!!

Dante is a cool name! I wish I had good advice to give. Toeshee is an aggressive player too. He gets a time out when he gets too wild. We also have a squirt bottle filled with water that we use when he is biting on Cody really hard. My daughter made a really fancy label for the bottle. It's "Holy Water" :)
I like Daisy's suggestions. Her Mommie works in a shelter, so she's pretty smart about that stuff.
He will bond with you eventually. I'm not sure about Sebastian and Yaffa. That may take more time. We are going through it too and so is Michico with Adan and Lego. Maybe those treats can be a reward for him if he's nice. :)

I've never sprayed water on any cats, but I've only had to walk over to the general area when they fight to get them to stop--they don't fight hardly at all, but wrestling can get bitey once in a while. I heard putting some pennies in a soda can and sealing it works too--just shaking the can.
In response to your question about meezers attacking. We have not actually experienced that. In fact, both myself and the meezer before were almost submissive to other cats in all situations except sitting on the person's lap (which was our territory). Have you joined the forum at meezer.com? There are lots of great meezer owners there who have lots of information about meezer behavior.
What about Dove, cos thats the opposite of what he is at the moment or is that not mancat enuf ?
