Blogging makes me tired!

Sebastian has been angry at me lately because he said that I am letting Dante rule the blogging lately. Sorry Sebastian, today it's all about you. Do you want to help me blog today?

Sebastian, you can be my blogging buddy.

All the blogging made him all tuckered out.

Sebastian: I need a break mom. Go away. Leave me alone.

Mom: Oh Sebastian, you are so funny, and so cute. Have a good nap cutie.

I put the bitey on the brush.

Dante knows how to open the cupboards, even the vanity in the bathroom. He loves to put the bitey on the hair brush. He is such a silly kitty. Our vanity is teeny tiny because we have a teeny tiny bathroom, it only fits one person, its pretty small. After I took this photo, I was like WOW inside the vanity is messy. Hahaha

Mickey Rourke: His Great Tribute

I watched most of the Academy Awards last night, and I was so moved by Mickey Rourke. I always thought he was a bit strange, but my impressions of him have changed so much this past year. His love for his pet chihuahua Loki is so endearing, and you can see the pain he was feeling last night as he talked about his dog Loki and how she past away just days ago.

In rememberance, he wore a necklace with Loki on it. The talk of the Oscars are usually all about the glamour and glitz and how everyone is dressed in their best, and who they are wearing. How wonderful of Mickey to take that opportunity to pay tribute to his loving dog.

Check out the article here, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/oscars/4785680/Oscars-2009-Mickey-Rourke-wishes-his-dog-was-still-here.html

Here you can check out the video of Rourke's interview with ET about his dog Loki.

A Very Large Grapefruit

I thought this made a cute photo. My mom had given me a Pomelo, which is a fruit very similar to grapefruit. Except I like it much better than a grapefruit because it is a lot sweeter. It has a thicker rind and is very pink inside, similar to a ruby red grapefruit. This photo shows the Pomelo next to the regular sized grapefruit. Giant!

Play cat fighting

Sebastian and Yaffa does this everyday. They play fight. It reminds me of kitty boxing.

And here is another video. It makes me laugh to see them doing this.

Dante Update: I'm sorry mom.

I have a tiny scar on my chin, courtesy of little Dante Kitty. His sharp nail caught my chin, and now I have an ouchie. Even though Dante has been slightly better, he's still very hyperactive and likes to use his claws and his bitey. We are still trying to patiently teach him right from wrong.

Dante: I'm sorry mom, but your big head was in my way. Is it my fault that you didn't move your head fast enough when I swung my arm?

Mom: Sigh, but Dante, you have to be careful with those sharp claws. How about you let me cut your nails a little, like a good kitty?

Dante: No way Jose!!

Hiding

Peek-a-boo, we see you. Yaffa likes to hide when she is being chased by the boys. Although, this cabinet is pretty narrow to hide under. Heehee.

Lap Kitty

I love this photo of Dante. He's learning to be a good kitty. On this day, we were sitting in bed watching tv, and he was sleeping on my lap. He doesn't normally like to sit on laps, but he's learning.

Now, If I can only teach him not to bite us!

You are never too old for a grooming from mom!

Yaffa and Sebastian Kitty have a very special bond. They love to cuddle and they love to "groom" each other. Here is Yaffa mommy grooming her baby. Even though Sebastian is not much of a baby anymore. He's 3!! But I guess for mommys, their kids will always in their minds be there baby no matter how old you get.

Tonight's Dinner

I thought all the kitties and doggies out there would appreciate seeing what we ate for dinner tonight. Sorry its such a bad photo! It was taken on my cellphone. This was our early Valentine's day dinner because we both have to work on that day. What an amazing meal, and it was all you can eat for one price. We are stuffed!!

Grace is Growing

When we were up at the G-ma & G-pa's farm a few weeks back, we were so happy to see Grace. Grace is a Belgium horse bred usually to be a draft horse, to pull carriages, tractors, or sleds. She is still a "baby" she is a little under 2 years old. She has grown a lot since we last saw her. Here is a photo of her in her stall. She loves to eat hay, and for treats she gets a carrot, or peppermint candy.

Here is an old photo from last year when she was a little under a year old. Isn't she so cute? Grace is such a sweet horse. She loves to be pet on the head. And she is so soft!!

Dante likes his carrier.

The other day, I saw Dante inside his carrier. He usually hates the carrier, but he was in there for awhile. Then I noticed him eating something. It turns out he found the treats that we put in the carrier when we transport him anywhere. When he's in the carrier he gets so upset, so we usually put a lot of Temptations treats inside to calm him down. Well, he found some uneaten ones under his blankie. Hehe.

Oh, and we forgot to announce that we posted our 400th post!! But now, today's post is our 403rd post! We are so amazed that we've reached this milestone!

Everyone loves tunafish!!

The other day, we gave the cats a special treat. I made tunafish sandwiches for lunch and all of the sudden I got an audience. As soon as the cats hear the sound of a can opening, they run to the kitchen. I allow the cats have some of the tuna juices. They love love love it.

Dante never had tuna juice before. This was his first time, and boy did he love it.

Here is the photo of the sandwich. We ate it with some really ripe sweet strawberries. Delicious.

Package of Goodies Video

As promised, here is the video showing how excited Yaffa and Sebastian were when we opened the package of goodies. As you can see, Yaffa went straight for the orange mouse with the furry tail. Oooh furry tail, what a fun toy!!

Thank you Jasper, Josie, Maggie, Huggy Bear & Their Beans!

We received this awesome prize from playing the "Name the Kitten" contest. Thank you so much Jasper, Jose, Maggie and Huggy Bear! We had so much fun opening the box. And investigating all the new fun toys. Dante really likes the mice toys. (He's not shown in these pics, but we will post pics of him playing with the mice.) We thought these were the coolest toys we've ever seen. Some of the toys had feathers on it. Some were furry. And one had string that you can swing the mouse with. We also got a package of Temptations. OUR FAVORITE.

Thank you, thank you!!

We have a video too, showing our excitement. I still have to post the video, more to come!

This will make you smile!!

In the midst of so much bad news these days, sometimes you just need something that makes you feel happy.
It is so nice to see something that makes you smile. Especially in these tough times.

Talk to the Back.

Mombean here, I finally figured out how to record video on my digital camera. Now that I have, I've been trying to film the cats, and this video just sums it up. They hate it when I stick the camera in their face. Check out what Sebastian does when I did that today.

Some of the new goats.

Last week we went way upstate to visit the family and the farm. They have added some new goats to their livestock. These goats are all females and are being raised to make goat cheese. The goats are all so friendly, you can go up to them and pet them. They love to eat hay and grain. They also especially like carrots. Aren't they adorable?

Meet our Friend Fizzgig

Fizzgig is the sweetest mancat, he lives in upstate NY with our friends. Even though he lives in the "country" he is an indoor cat. Fizzgig loves water, he drinks right from the kitchen faucet. Isn't he just adorable?

Move over mom, I want to be in front of the camera!

I was blogging the other day, when Dante jumped up and wanted to see what I was doing. So I turned on the "camera" on the computer and he was so fascinated with seeing himself on the computer screen. I think he probably thought it was another cat that he can do the bitey on.

A Different Kind of Kitty!

Today my friend Ruth and I ventured to Chinatown for some food shopping. Dumplings and fresh fruit, yum. We also wanted to catch the Chinese New Year festivities, today is the last day of the Lion Dance parade. The Lion dances in front of storefronts and restaurants to ward off evil spirits and to bring good luck and new fortune in the new year. The Lunar new year started on Jan. 26th. And there has been celebrations everyday since.

A lot of the merchants sell these little lions as souvenirs. Aren't these kitties cute??

When Mayor Giuliani was the mayor, he made fireworks illegal in new york city. In Chinese new year's celebrations fireworks are usually used to scare away evil spirits and to awake the Chinese dragon which also brings good fortune. Since fireworks are no longer allowed, these days in chinatown, they celebrate with these large confetti "fireworks" which is a long tube that bursts out air full of confetti. As you can see, the street was filled with it.

And here are the sanitation trucks already cleaning!! The sanitation department in New York is the best.

I love furry mousies!!

Dante absolutely loves mouse toys that have soft real looking fur. He loves to attack and pounce on the mouse. He gets very playful and gives it the bitey. Here are some photos of him giving the "love" to his favorite mouse toy. The other thing Dante loves to do is to hide the mice. This is the 3rd one I've given him, and have no idea where he's hidden in. He is too funny.
