I'm Sorry Yaffa, Here is Tuna!

So, I was feeling bad about disturbing Yaffa by trying to take photos of her while she was trying to nap. So I decided to give her some Tuna for her first time ever! This is the first time she has ever tried it. She really liked it. She ate it all quickly. See, let mommy take pictures of you, and you will be awarded. :)

Mom, leave me alone

Can't a kitty take a nap in private without a big camera thingy in my face! Sheesh!

Bunny Bunny is One of Us

The other day, I saw the cats both cuddled up on the bed, and in between them was my childhood stuffed animal, Bunny Bunny. How cute they are both snuggling up next to Bunny Bunny. It's almost like she is one of the cats. Hehe.

My Pillow?

So I came home from work last night, and to my surprise, I found Yaffa kitty sleeping ON MY PILLOW on my bed!! Yaffa Kitty, I said, with a stern voice, you are allowed to sleep anywhere else in this house, EXCEPT my pillow!! The cats even have their own cat bed. But no, she likes my pillow. All of these thoughts started to run through my head as I was thinking about what my head was laying on all this time. Apparently, Yaffa LOVES to sleep on my pillow! All I can think about was, her using the cat litterbox then immediately jumping on my pillow. G-U-L-P, or her coughing up a hair ball, on my pillow... Needless to say, now, whenever I leave in the morning for work, I stuff my pillow in the closet.

Ooooh Chin Rubs!

Not to be out done by Yaffa, Sebastian decided he wanted to get in on the loving too. So this time, he came up to me, yes, me Mommy, not daddy, and got ready for a good ole chin rub. Oh man, was he loving it! Sebastian, is definitely not a lap cat with me, only daddy, but he's not biased when it comes to chin rubs, as you can see by this photo!

Lappy Kitty

Lately, Yaffa has been so affectionate. She has come such a long way from being a stray cat. When we first brought Yaffa home, she was so skittish, and scared and used to hide under couches for hours. It was understandable because she used to live on the streets of Brooklyn! But it's been almost 3 years that she's been living with us, and now, she is truly a lap kitty. She loves to get her belly rubbed, and pats on her head. She especially loves a scratch under the chin. Look how cuddly she is with the Dad. She loves to sit with him and get some lovin'.

Give me the nip, NOW!

Dad bean has put the catnip in a new spot under the fish tank. Sebastian had found it one day and was licking the bag. Good trick Sebastian, because Dad bean gave in and gave him some nip. I decided afterwards that daddy needs to find a new spot to hide the nip, don't you?

What does that taste like?

The cats don't usually sneak up and steal bean food but once in awhile, their curiosity gets the best of them and they have to "lick" it. We were eating some tasty mangos the other day, when all of the sudden I noticed Sebastian sneaking up on the plate. We took the plate away before he got to it, because we don't think its good for cats to eat sweet mango. But boy, was he curious!

Sun Sunshiny Day

It was an amazing 81F degrees today in Manhattan. So warm that I jumped at the chance to take my lunch break outside at a sidewalk cafe. Even Sebastian took in the warm weather. He loves it when we open the window for him. He will just sit there for hours. You can see behind him, the enormous Magnolia tree in our neighbors backyard. Here's a larger photo of it. Sorry for the fire escape obstructing the view. When that Magnolia tree starts to bloom, I know spring is here. It's been so warm, that the entire tree is in full bloom! OH...I (heart) spring.

Store Cat

A couple of week's ago we wrote about a watch kitty at a floral store. I should start doing a series of photos of cats hard at work. This time we saw another watch kitty at a fruit grocer. This watch kitty was just sitting in the sidewalk, watching over his store. Good kitty.

Lazy Sunday

The cats love to cuddle together for an afternoon nap. I took these photos of them while they were snoozing. Nothing is better than a lazy Sunday. I love how Sebastian has his paws tucked up next to him. It's so cute, I have to resist wanting to pick him up and cuddle him, though he hates that when he's sleeping. "Mom!" he says, "Do Not Disturb!!!!".

I will sleep wherever I **** please

Sebastian has been doing the funniest thing lately. Usually the cat bed is in the bedroom with us. But lately, he's been moving the bed to wherever he feels like sleeping. It's the strangest thing I've seen him do in a long time. Here is a photo of him in the office, he moved the bed to the middle of the room. A good 5 feet from where we had it in the bedroom. Silly kitty. Visit the friday ark!

Dad's away

Dad is away for a few days visiting family, so I thought I'd post these photos of the cats getting cuddles and hugs from dad. The cats really only like it when dad picks them up and cuddle. They rarely let me, (mom) pick them up, they get very fidgety. I call dad the cat whisperer because he has such a calming affect on the cats. We miss dad, he should be back by Friday.

In the bottom photo is Sebastian. He loves to lean his head back for a good stretchy.

You Are Not Supposed to Be Up There

Little Sebastian Kitty, he can be very bold at times. There are some pieces of furniture in the house that he is not allowed on top of. Especially ones that hold expensive items. I was in the bedroom one day, and then walked into the living room and low and behold, guess what I saw??

Yes, feed me

I took these photos on my cellphone camera. Sorry it's such poor quality. But I wanted to show you all how Yaffa stalks me whenever she's hungry and I'm in the kitchen. Here she is giving me the stare down from the hallway. She keeps a close eye on me, and stalks me until I put food in her dish. Hehehe, good trick!

Breaks my Heart

We were coming home from dinner with friends and we were on our street when we saw this stray cat right outside our neighbor's house. We stopped to see him, and he was the friendliest stray I had ever seen. He came right up to us and started to purr and rub up against our legs. Then he jumped up with his front paws on our legs to say hi. Here are some photos of the white kitty, in the picture you can see Kyle's legs. He was completely white except for his tail was grey / black striped. We think this used to be someone's pet because he was so extremely friendly. The cat had a couple of scars that concerned us, one on the top of his head and one on his arm. After a few minutes, the cat scurried into the neighbors yard. I had a hard time walking away, I really wanted to go after him and bring him home, just like what we did with our Yaffa Kitty. Sigh. I hope I see this cat again in the neighborhood.

Peek a Boo

We were sitting on the couch, and Sebastian was playing peek-a-boo with us. He was sitting on the chair and would peek over the molding on the door, and check out what we were doing on the couch. When we turn to look at him, he would look the other way. Peek-a-boo I see you!
Happy April's Fools Day to all kitties and beans everywhere!
