Lately, Yaffa has been so affectionate. She has come such a long way from being a stray cat. When we first brought Yaffa home, she was so skittish, and scared and used to hide under couches for hours. It was understandable because she used to live on the streets of Brooklyn! But it's been almost 3 years that she's been living with us, and now, she is truly a lap kitty. She loves to get her belly rubbed, and pats on her head. She especially loves a scratch under the chin. Look how cuddly she is with the Dad. She loves to sit with him and get some lovin'.

Awww, that's very sweet :)
Awww Yaffa you are so sweet! It is good to have a forever home and not be out on the streets isn't it?!
Looks like you guys have done a great job on Yaffa. She's totally comfy now

Yaffa, I am so happy that you are a lap kitty now and getting such good pets and scritches from your Dad.
Oh Yaffa you do look all comfy cosy.
Did I ever tell you that one of New Zealands favorite lollies (sweets or candy) are called Jaffas? They are little choc balls with an orange coating!!Whenever mum reads your blog, or sees your picture she thinks of them.
Yaffa, we are glad you have learned to be a lap kitty. :) Cuddling in a human lap is one of the best things there is. :)
Yaffa looks like she is having a good time in the lap, so glad she has a forever home.
Aww, this is so cute. Chica also loves chin and belly rubbing so much and she enjoys the time cuddling. I always feel that former strays are more thankful.
Yaffa sure knows how to lounge. That's for sure.
I love to hear such happy stories - reminds me of our Bandito, who we saved from the cold bitter winter here in Quebec. It took us 2 years to get him to even consider coming inside - it had to be done in very slow stages. He slept overnight in the screened-in porch for almost a year. But we finally managed to turn him into a real snuggle-bug - just like your Yaffa.
I'm getting there myself. I wasn't a tough street cat but I was manhandled by the VETs a lot as a kitten so it takes me a while to want to be touched but laps are great!

Yaffa looks so happy and content! I love chin scritches, too.
Oh, no, Yaffa, you've caved in and become domesticated. We hope they pay you VERY well for this -- lots and lots of temptations and treats and primo nip and soft cushions to sleep on.
Oh that is so sweet. She is really happy to be with her forever humans..

It's good, Yaffa, that you're not scared anymore. You've come a long way, and it was worth it!

Your kitty has the same name as my doctor! Cool. But your cat wouldn't try to stick a thermometer up my bum or anything would she? I might have to pick her up if she did.

We love happy ending stories like Yaffa's! It makes us very sad to know so many kitties will never know how nice it is having a forever home with people who love you.
Talk about the lap of luxury!
Awww, Mommy says there's nothing better than a kitty in the lap!
Yaffa, you look very comfy there. You used to live on the streets of Brooklyn? That is very scary!! I am glad you are safe now!!
