My Daddy!

This picture makes me smile. Yaffa kitty absolutely loves her Daddy! In this photo, she is hugging his leg as if she doesn't want to let go. It's so cute. She gets cuddly on her terms, when she wants to. You can't pick Yaffa up, she doesn't like being held or hugged. But, she will however, when she is in the mood, jump on your lap and hug you.

It was a balmy warm day in Brooklyn today. 88F and sunny. It felt like summer. So hot. This weather is unseasonably warm. It's only April!!

Raw Oysters!!

Almost nothing beats the deliciousness of raw oysters. For Kyle's birthday, we went for an Oyster treat. Topped with horseradish and cocktail sauce and a bit of vinegar and lemon. How scrumptious!!

Also good news, the bank has reimbursed me the funds for the fraudulent charges that were made to my account. It wasn't easy though, I had to go to the bank 4 times and make 5 phone calls. But alas, it's finally back into my account, thank goodness!!

New Printer!

When I got the new laptop, I also took the deal that Apple was offering and got a new printer too. It was free with the rebate. Who can pass that up? I can't resist anything that is free!! I finally got around to opening the box and to test out the new printer. The cats were so intrigued by it. They were checking out the new toy. I love the new printer. It scans, copies and prints in color. Awesome!!!

Beyond Delicious

Last week, I went over a good friend's house for dinner. We made this amazing meal of filet mignon, red skin mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. We saw the recipe of filet mignon on the food network website. The recipe uses this sauce that is so delicious. The sauce is made with shitake mushrooms, brandy or wine, butter and cream. AMAZING!!! The filet mignon was so tender, it practically melted in your mouth.

I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and messages about my "robbery" ordeal. I feel really privileged to be part of such a great and kind blog community. It's been over a week, and the bank hasn't reimbursed any of the money yet. They say it can take at least 10 days. It's very frustrating, but I'm trying to stay positive about it. I have filed a police report about my stolen wallet, but I don't know if they will be able to catch the thief. I'm still quite sad over the whole ordeal, mostly because my faith in people has been shattered a little. I feel so nervous about carrying around a purse now. I don't want to get robbed again. It's hard when you live in a big city like New York, since there are so many people everywhere. I just have to be extra careful from now on.

I'm in here because I don't want to be bothered

Dante likes his alone time. When he wants some space, he goes into the soft carrier and takes a quiet time out. I couldn't resist taking a picture. Though I could tell he wasn't in a photo mood.

I've had a terrible week. Two days ago, someone stole my wallet while I was at Starbucks. I was sitting at a table, and someone went into my purse and took my wallet without me noticing. I didn't realize it was gone for an hour, and when I did realize, I called my bank and they had charged over $1700 worth of charges on my debit / credit card. This card withdraws money right out of my checking account. I felt faint. They also charged $300 on my Gap credit card. $2000 worth of fraudulent charges in one hour!!! Both are currently under investigation, I'm just crossing my fingers that I get my money back from the bank. This whole experience made me lose my trust in people. I hate that feeling.

Pizza!! Pizza!! Pizza!!

Mom and Dad gave us their bread maker some time ago. They were getting rid of some things at their house, and they were going to dispose of the bread maker, but we told them we would take it and use it!! I love making bread, it's so much fun. We make pizza dough with it too. On this occasion we made a deluxe pizza. It was the size of a baking sheet!! Toppings included ground turkey, onions, corn, and red bell peppers. Can anyone say Yum? I'm drooling just thinking about it!! The crust came out really thick, it was like a homemade Sicilian pizza. Delicious!
