Happy Hearts Dog Cookies

We were so happy and thrilled to receive this cool package in the mail from the Happy Hearts Dog Cookies company. A contest that was posted on Huffle's blog, where a winner would be selected for the best answer to this phrase. "I think happy hearts cookies will help me to..." Here was the original post. http://hufflemawson.blogspot.com/2009/05/and-now-for-competition.html
Our very own Dante Kitty, was selected as one of the winners. Dante said, " I think happy hearts cookies will help me to..... be the baddest kitty in all the world."
How excited we were when we saw this package! OMG, isn't it awesome??? We couldn't believe that there were 3 whole bags of treats! The cats just about fainted. And they smelled so delicious!! Here is a link of where you can order your very own cookies!! http://happyheartsdogcookies.com/

Salmon and cheese flavor!! Ooooooh. Dante was practically kissing the treats! See how cute!

And the cookies were shaped of little squirrels!! How cute, cute cute! Dante decided to share some of his treats with Cousin Nikki! Nikki loved loved loved the little tasty treats.

Look how focused she is staring at the doggie treats. She was super excited!

THANK YOU HUFFLE AND HAPPY HEARTS!! You really made our week! Thank you so much for the fantastic treats!

Renegade Craft Fair

A few weeks ago we had a very cool crafts fair at the park in our neighborhood. The Renegrade Crafts fair was in town. 200+ vendors came to sell their homemade items. The next one is in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and then Chicago. http://www.renegadecraft.com/ It was so much fun. I love, love, love craft fairs. Everything is uniquely made and very one of a kind. So much talent in one space.

There were a lot of screenprint designed shirts. Lots of artists putting their work on cool t-shirts.

So many things to choose from. I saw this booth, it caught my eye because of all the cute robots on the shirts. I ended up buying one for my husband. They called themselves Intl. Robot. Here is her website, check out how cute! www.dylanS.etsy.com

I thought these little monster dolls were absolutely adorable!!

I thought this was pretty interesting. "Stuffed" animals on the wall. It was disturbing and cute at the same time.

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Dante is such a curious kitty. He investigates everything. Our landlord gave us roses from her garden and Dante was quick to smell the flowers. He loves plants and so he wanted to see what this was all about. I have to watch him though because he loves to chew on things too, and I didn't want him to chew on the flowers. I tried to get a good photo of him with the flowers but he kept turning his head. So this was the best I could do.

A funny word verification

I was commenting on a blog the other day, and this is the word verification that came up. I thought it was pretty funny! Usually the word verification are a jumble of letters but not this time!

I love it when Yaffa lies on the floor like this!

When its warm in the house, Yaffa likes to stretch her legs out so she feels the cool floor! I love it when she's lying down with her legs out, she looks like a furry bean. So cute!!

Matsui, Posada, Jeter Oh My!

We had a very exciting day yesterday. Went to the Yankees vs. Rays game. We lucked out with the weather. It was supposed to rain, the clouds were building but not a single drop. The Yankees have a new stadium, and we were so impressed by it. So nicely designed and easy to navigate. We sat in the bleachers and was able to see everything! We really wanted to see Joba pitch but starting was Andy Pettitte. Oh well. They did end up winning 5-3 because of 5 home runs from the Yankees. Swisher hit two of the 5. Go Swisher!
Here are some of the photos from the game.

Here is the old Yankees stadium.

New Yankees stadium

The new stadium has a great layout and is so easy to find your seats. We sat with the bleacher creatures.

Jorge Posada is my favorite Yankee. Here he is warming up near the bleacher seats.

DEREK JETER!!!!

Dante's New Toy

We saw Dante chasing something the other day, and then at closer look we saw that it was.... A beetle. This was the first time that he came up close and personal with any kind of bug, and he was having so much fun with it. He didn't kill it right away, he put his paw on it, then lift his paw to let it walk a bit, then put his paw on it again. He was so fascinated with the little bugger. After a few minutes I too the bug away, because I was afraid he might try to eat it. Biggify the photo to see the bug.
Beautiful Sunday, bright sunny and just absolutely gorgeous!!

Greenpoint Bike Ride

We are having so much fun on our bike rides around our neighborhood. We discovered this really amazing home made ice cream factory. I can't believe that we've lived here 3 years and never knew this place existed.

It has the most delicious ice cream ever!! Doesn't this look divine? It's so rich, and creamy, and decadent. The flavor I chose was chocolate, chocolate chunk on a waffle cone. So good!

Down the street from the ice cream place we saw that there were these shelters for the feral cats in the neighborhood. It is sponsored by the Neighborhood Cats organization. Their missions states, "Neighborhood Cats believes Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the most humane and effective method available to end the severe feral cat overpopulation crisis faced by this country." Since I had never been in that part of the neighborhood before, I didn't know it existed. I found it so interesting.

I saw some of the cats in the parking lot behind these boxes and they seemed happy and healthy. Although its hard to tell, there was a large fence to prevent us from going up close. But it's clear someone is feeding them, there was food and water bowls.

Bath time

"Geez louise, can't a girl take a bath without flashing bulbs?" I thought Yaffa looked adorable on the couch grooming herself, however she was not thrilled with the camera and all the picture taking.

Birthday Surprises

For my birthday, I was so surprised when I received a large box delivered to my door. A new bicycle! A surprise from my husband. What a terrific surprise! The bike looks like one of those old fashion bikes, with the large seat cushions and wide handle bars. He also picked out a basket to tie to the front. We've been taking advantage of the nice weather and going on lots of bike rides around the neighborhood. Great fun. The only thing I don't like is the Brooklyn traffic. It takes some getting used to having all those cars around you.

Also, my mom gave me some gorgeous flowers. The peonies are from her garden. Aren't they gorgeous, they smell amazing and are one of my favorite flowers! She also gave me a huge bouquet of spray roses! Ahh, spring blooms, they are so fantastic!!

Can we both fit in the window??

It's been amazing 70 degree weather all week! Really fantastic. The hot spot in our apartment is the window sill. As you can see, everyone fights for that spot. It's funny, there are 2 other window sills in the house, but this one, everyone loves. I think it's because it's a perfect view of the fire escape, where all the pigeons and squirrels hang out. I don't blame them for wanting to sit there all day!
