Refreshing Lemonade

In the hot days of summer, it's always nice to have a refreshing glass of lemonade. YUM. I decided on this day to treat myself to a cupcake too. I was so excited until I realized how much I owed for this cupcake. Can you believe this cupcake cost me $2.50! That to me is really crazy.

Wordless Wednesday: Cuddle Time

I scream for Ice Cream!

Isn't this model of Coney Island so life like? It's a minature model of the park. So cute.

Off the boardwalk in Coney Island there is an ice cream / candy / treats store that sells the most yummy stuff. Name it, they have it. Candy apples, funnel cake, italian ice, salt water taffy, cotton candy, and ICE CREAM. Doesn't this look mouth watering? Can you guess what these two flavors are? The furry or bean that guesses the two flavors correctly, wins a Prize!!

Our Cold Box

Poppy Q tagged us for the cold box meme. This is ours. This fridge is always on the fritz, sometimes it freezes the drinks in the fridge side, and other times, it spoils things. We have to get a new one soon. As you can see it is full of a mess of stuff. Magnets, pictures of cats, and tons of photos of nieces, nephews, and friend's babies. Kyle and I always joke about it, for a couple that do not have kids of our own, we sure have lots of babies on our fridge. We are lucky though to have a lot of little ones close to us. I did not want to take a photo of the inside of the fridge, its a bit messy and embarrassing.

Free Greenies Sample!

I had such a frustrating day yesterday on the phone fighting with my insurance company. HIP NY really set me over the edge when they tried to charge me $150 for generic prescription when the brand name was $90. I called to ask why they weren't covering the generic and the rep had no real good answer. How frustrating! The most annoying thing however is that there is apparently a new law in New York State that says that pharmacies are required to give you the generic version of medicine if there is one available, regardless if your insurance covers the generic. Isn't that a silly law? They must give it to you, even if it costs you more than brand name. How is that a good idea? I asked the pharmacy to not give me the generic but they said they weren't allowed to give me the brand name. I asked them why since my prescription was written for brand name and they said that the doctor needs to put "DAW" - "Dispense As Written" on the form in order for only brand name be fulfilled. Usually generic saves people money, but not with backwards HIP NY insurance. When I spoke to HIP they said, go back to the pharmacy and insist on the brand name. I said to her, if that worked the first time, do you think I'd be calling HIP customer service? Gee whiz! I ended up slamming the phone on the lady and calling my doctor to call the pharmacy. US Healthcare, its such a sham!!

The only good news that came across my desk yesterday is this freebie from Greenies.
Our cats LOVE Greenies so much. We just received an email from the company letting us know that there is a new free sample to promote their new GREENIES® PILL POCKETS® treats. These treats are so cool, on the website it says "they have a built-in pocket that’s perfect for hiding a pill or liquid medication, and how they are the innovative way to give your pet his daily dose of medicine." We are so excited by these new treats that we wanted to share it with all of our bloggie friends.

Sign up for a free sample here.

I can't wait to try it on the cats. If they are as good as the other kind of Greenies, they will love it.

Wonder Wheel

Here are some more photos from Mom's birthday adventure. She thought it would be fun to ride the Wonder Wheel which is a huge ferris wheel. The inside cars move back and forth as the wheel goes around and around. Mom bean miscalculated the wooziness she would get on this ride. Especially after we rode the Cyclone twice! Mom bean's friends and fiancee were all pretty ill feeling. Especially the ones who ate Nathan's hot dogs right before getting on the ride. Uh oh. The view was amazing though from the top! You could see the whole amusement park from one side, and from the other side the beach! It was almost worth feeling sick!

I Love Bags

Sebastian's favorite thing ever is to lay on top of bags. He likes to sit on the laundry bag. Even when laundry is clean. Especially when laundry is clean.

Coney Island

I finally downloaded the photos from my birthday. Here are some of the Coney Island pictures I took. I always get a little nostalgic whenever I visit Coney Island since I remember coming here as a little kid. There are lots of changes happening here, there is a developer called Thor properties who is changing the boardwalk area into Luxury condos and a new amusement park. It's very sad, because part of the charm of Coney Island are the scary weird rides. I road the Cyclone for the first time in 25 years. OMG, it is as scary as I remember it when I was 9! It was so much fun though, we rode it twice! We also got some goodies over at Nathans. Their lemonade is so tasty! YUM.

Street Vending Kitty

I was in Chinatown today, where street vendors are found everywhere. I was walking down the street, when I saw something that stopped me in my tracks. Sorry this is such a crappy photo, it was super sunny and taken on my cellphone. Can you see the kitty waiting for the street vendor to drop any morsels of food? What a smart kitty!

Visit this week's carnival at Kashim & Othello's.

Another Store Kitty!

We saw this lovely and friendly ginger cat on the sidewalk enjoying all the attention from passerbys. We see this store kitty pretty frequently on the sidewalk. He likes to hang out outside the deli / grocery store where he works. He's a very friendly kitty. He enjoys strangers coming up to him to say hi, he isn't scared of strangers at all. I guess if you work in a deli / grocery store, you have to be social from all the customers that come in daily.

Jersey Shore

Here are the photos I promised of the Jersey Shore, finally the pictures were available to download. The weather was pretty crummy the entire weekend, with lots of overcast, clouds, and a bit of rain. But we did get to go to the beach, and have fun despite the not so great weather. Here is a photo of the overcast day. What was nice about the weather was that the beach was so peaceful. The not-so-nice weather kept a lot of people away. And so we practically had the beach to ourselves. Our own private beach! The waves were pretty wicked and stormy and the water was frigid cold. About 62F but felt way colder with the sun not being out. We were only brave enough to go in the water 1/2 way. So cold. We did see something really cool, we saw a family of Dolphins swimming really close to the shore. About 5 dolphins, they were jumping out of the water, it was really amazing. I wanted to take photos, but I didn't have a camera with zoom lens. It was neat though.

On July 4th, we went to the beach and they had a huge fireworks display right on Lavallette beach. It was so amazing, I have never seen fireworks so close up before. It really was spectacular. They launched the fireworks over the water / waves. It was really pretty. Can you believe this is a photo from my cellphone? Neat.

Technology!!

I had all intentions of uploading some photos I took on my phone this weekend, but T-Mobile has changed their photo gallery album interface online, and now somehow the images that I have tried to send from my phone to my album are not displaying. #$$%^@! Technology. I love it, but it can be so frustrating. When I can figure out how to download the photos from the new photo album, I will post them. I feel so out of the loop since I left the city for 4 days and went with my sister to the Jersey shore. We spent 3 relaxing days at Ortley Beach, NJ. Despite the overcast weather, we had a great time. Dad bean stayed home with the kitties, since he had to work over the 4th of July Holiday. Poor dad bean. But the kitties keep him company. Look how cute Sebastian is! He gives mommy Kitty sweet kisses. Happy belated 4th of July to everyone.

That's My Rug!

There is a spot that Sebastian kitty loves to sleep on. Its on the rug right next to the dining room table. He loves to take a snooze there for a good afternoon nap. This last photo looks like he's saying, Whatcha staring at? That's my rug!
