Just came back from a day of Easter festivities, and found the cats lounging. Enjoying the sun, the comfy couch and the lazy Sunday. Wishing you all a happy Easter!
Diva Kitty and the Fluffies sent us a nice e-card to wish us a Happy Spring. How nice it was to get an unexpected greeting card on this "New Spring" day! They have some nice flower photos on their blog today. http://divakitty.wordpress.com/ Which makes me think about spring. Oh I wish flowers would spring up around our neck of the woods. Although, It feels spring like out in New York City today, it's very sunny and 47 degrees. Which is warm for us! Wishing everyone a happy spring.
Yesterday I blogged about how Yaffa Kitty does not like to cuddle. She wanted to prove me wrong. Last night, when Kyle came home, she jumped right on his lap as we were sitting on the couch. See mom, she said, I do like to cuddle!! (She's more cuddly with Dad Kyle then she is with me, Mom.
Yaffa kitty isn't much of a cuddle kitty since she was a street cat when we found her. But once in awhile she likes to sit on the couch with me and "cuddle" or hang out. Here she is sitting beside me on the couch watching TV with me. Everyday, little Yaffa gets more at ease with being cuddled and held. It's a long road though. She still fiddles when you pick her up, at most it usually lasts 10 seconds before she squirms. I'm still working on it though. I know she'll one day let me hug her longer.
One of Sebastian's favorite thing to do lately is to jump on my bath towels after I come out of the shower in the morning. I am usually in a mad rush in the morning, so I throw the bath towels and robe on the bed as I get dressed for work. When I turn around to find clothes to wear in the closet, Sebastian decides this is the best time to make his move. He wastes no time getting comfortable in the pile of soft fluffy towels! I especially love this close up photo of him. How cute is he!!
This past Saturday we forwarded the clock an hour, and almost immediately it started to feel like spring! On Sunday, the sun was shining and it was getting warmer out. We even opened the windows and moved a chair close to the window to allow the cats to look outside the window at the chirping birds. We have a screen in the window though, since we live on the 3rd floor. But the cats could get a good view of the spring like weather! Sorry for the dark photo, the sun was shining brightly!

It's been a couple of days since I last posted to the blog. I feel terrible about it. However, I haven't been feeling well, been sick with a cold these last couple of days, fever, runny nose, headache, sore throat. Yuk! I'm starting to feel a little better, and wanted to share these photos that I took on my camera phone this past Sunday. The sun was beaming into the living room window, and both kitties were enjoying the sun, by sitting on top of the couch ledge. Yaffa was sitting there first, and Sebastian being the copy cat that he is, jumped up on the couch to join his mommy.
I saw this video of this kitten and it got me so nostalgic of when Sebastian was a little Kitty. Oh, Sebastian was so adorable when he was a tiny guy, he was the runt of the bunch. He was the tiniest of the litter, and with the most personality. Sometimes I look at him and all I see is that little baby kitten he once was. Adorable. Click on the photo to view the video.
Even though I see this occurrence just about every day now, I still get a kick out of seeing little Sebastian Kitty jumping up on the couch to sit snuggly on Kyle's lap. He really loves cuddling with him. He doesn't however do that with me. Kyle says its because I'm not in the boys club. They have some weird camaraderie going on where no girls are allowed. I do get jealous, because I would like some cuddle time with Sebastian. Oh well, at least Yaffa will sit on my lap once in a blue moon.
I found this neat video of this cat taking a bath / swim. When Sebastian kitty was a little kitten, he used to love sinks and the bathtub. He always went right up to the faucet. We thought he would swim one day, but one time when I was getting a bath ready, he fell in, and jump right out of the tub. He didn't like getting soaked. It's one thing to play with the faucet it's another to be completely drenched with water. Click on the thumbnail photo to view the video.

Sebastian Kitty has become very much a lap cat. However, he only does it with Kyle, not with me. Just about everyday, sometimes twice a day, while Kyle is watching TV, he jumps on top of his lap and hangs out. He loves to cuddle and snuggle with him. They are like best friends. Best friend kitty.
One of Yaffa's favorite places to sleep is in between Kyle's legs when he's sleeping in bed. She loves to snuggly in there, because it keeps her nice and warm and night. Kyle usually sleeps on his stomach so sometimes he doesn't realize little Kitty is on top of him. And then when he tries to get up, he's trapped because Yaffa won't let him.
(photo above is our new friend Poppy Q) Thank you Poppy Q for the wonderful shout out on your blog. We very much enjoyed the Friday Surprise!! We are so happy to have meet new cat blogging friends. Thanks again!
How cute are these two? The little puppy is so playful with this cat. And so tiny compared to the cat. The cat doesn't seem to mind that the puppy is jumping all over it, all the cat wants to do is eat their food. But the puppy wants to eat the cat's ear. Adorable. Sebastian Kitty has found himself a new bed. Lately, he's loving the cat naps he takes on top of Kyle's work bag. Check out his cute face. Look at his eyes, they are so sleepy. We are not sure why he likes to sleep on the bag. It doesn't look at all comfortable. Silly kitty!
Every once in awhile, little Sebastian Kitty loves a good belly rub. He can be finicky about it though. He has to be in the right mood for it, but when he is, oh man, does he love being scratched and tickled on his belly. His other favorite thing is when he allows us to give him a paw rub. It gets him so relaxed and sleepy. Lucky cat!
Here is Sebastian kitty taking a nap on the catalog of our favorite store. We went to Ikea 2 weeks ago to pick up some dining room furniture. It's not our favorite store for the quality of the furniture. The furniture can be cheaply made. However, it's our favorite store, because everytime you go there, it's an experience. They have these great showrooms that allow you to envision what your house could look like. It's kinda fun to imagine. We picked up a catalog to bring home. Sebastian, since he loves sleeping on magazines jumped at a chance to sleep on top of it.
Apologies, I've been posting a lot of non Sebastian and Yaffa entries lately. Here is one to make up for it. Yesterday Sebastian little kitty was checking out the Valentine's gift that I gave Kyle. Oooh, a new printer, he seemed to be saying, it's mine? We've needed a new printer for the longest time. The last one we had, the holder for the ink was broken, so we had tape holding it together. It didn't work that well though. It was printing nothing or would create paper jams. New printer at last!!
I just read about these cats at the shelter near our house and it just broke my heart. If it was at all even possible to allow for more cats in our tiny apartment I would definitely bring them home. But we're already 2 adults and 2 cats in a one bedroom apartment, and just about out of space. Instead, I thought it'd be a good idea to spread the word. Write about it on our blog, and maybe some kind cat bloggers out there will want to help out. I decided I will stop by the shelter this weekend, and bring by a donation and maybe some cat toys and cat treats. Thank goodness for no-kill shelters like BARC. What a great organization.
I've been obsessed lately with finding strange things on the web related to cats. This one video in particular was on Revver. I'm not really sure how the cat got in that tub will all those birds. It's all kind of bizarre to me. Click on the thumbnail to view the video. If this was Sebastian, the chicks would be in his mouth already.
I saw this website online and I absolutely loved it. You can buy different kinds of wigs for your cat. Kudos to Kitty Wigs for donating 20% of their profit to the ASPCA. Hmm, I wonder how Yaffa and Sebastian would look with a wig on?

Sebastian and Yaffa got some really great toys from their aunties and uncles this Christmas. Check out the one they got from Uncle Joe and Aunt May. Its this really neat toy with a furry mouse on the top, and inside there are two balls that go around and around in a circle. It is hours of endless fun! If only Christmas could be every day! Yaffa really enjoys the toy. She keeps thinking she can catch the little ball. Oh silly Yaffa.
Ever since we took down the Christmas tree, the cats has noticed something is missing. The cats loved to sit under the tree. The smell and the pine needles were irresistable. But we had to throw out the tree, because it was a fire hazard, all dry and brittle. For the last 3 days, Sebastian has been sitting in the spot where the tree once was. Poor little kitty. If they still sold Christmas trees after the holidays, we would certainly get another one for him.

We came back from Holiday to find that we had received our secret paws package. Above are pictures of us having fun opening the package. Thank you Sebastian, Felony, and Tsuki! We especially liked the handknit catnip mouse. We loved that idea and we are going to get mommy to knit us some as well. Mom has picked up knitting this winter, so it's a perfect solution for all that extra catnip we have in the cupboard. We also loved the treats. and other toys. Thank you again for a fun package, and happy new year.
