We are having so much fun on our bike rides around our neighborhood. We discovered this really amazing home made ice cream factory. I can't believe that we've lived here 3 years and never knew this place existed.
It has the most delicious ice cream ever!! Doesn't this look divine? It's so rich, and creamy, and decadent. The flavor I chose was chocolate, chocolate chunk on a waffle cone. So good!
Down the street from the ice cream place we saw that there were these shelters for the feral cats in the neighborhood. It is sponsored by the Neighborhood Cats organization. Their missions states, "Neighborhood Cats believes Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the most humane and effective method available to end the severe feral cat overpopulation crisis faced by this country." Since I had never been in that part of the neighborhood before, I didn't know it existed. I found it so interesting.
I saw some of the cats in the parking lot behind these boxes and they seemed happy and healthy. Although its hard to tell, there was a large fence to prevent us from going up close. But it's clear someone is feeding them, there was food and water bowls.

I am happy that more and more is done for feral cats. Here too vet volenteers spay cats cut a little piece of the ear off so that everybody knows that the cat is spayed and let them free again. Many people feed them.
My mom usually shares her ice cream with the Monty Dog!! But never us cats! Actually I have no interest in the cold stuff!
That looks like those people are doing a good deed with the kitties!
athat is an interesting idea! TNR and provide cat condos. Fancy that!
What a wonderful outing!
You found two very lovely things! Those kitties are so lucky to have a great organization looking out for them.....and the people get ice cream!!!!!
