Dante Update: I'm sorry mom.

I have a tiny scar on my chin, courtesy of little Dante Kitty. His sharp nail caught my chin, and now I have an ouchie. Even though Dante has been slightly better, he's still very hyperactive and likes to use his claws and his bitey. We are still trying to patiently teach him right from wrong.

Dante: I'm sorry mom, but your big head was in my way. Is it my fault that you didn't move your head fast enough when I swung my arm?

Mom: Sigh, but Dante, you have to be careful with those sharp claws. How about you let me cut your nails a little, like a good kitty?

Dante: No way Jose!!

Awww, poor misunderstood Dante! We are sure he didn't mean to hurt his Mommy. Toy gets crazy sometimes during the winter because he can't go for walks on his leash. He just likes to be in Mommies attention 24/7 or he gets jealous and hyper and gets in to everything!!=^Y^=the Cat Street Boyz

Poor kitty! Look what you made him do! So unfair!!

A good nail clipping session worked wonders with our own little hyperactive one - Chilli. That's a bad place for an ouchie, your mom will have to answer stupid questions now, Dante. Hoping it heals fast, Siena & Chilli

Dante sounds a lot like our Maggie May who is 10 months old. She really detests the nail clipping sessions!

Oopsie! I'm sure Dante did not mean to cause the hurty.

Ouchie! I'm sure Dante didn't mean to leave a scratch. One time I jumped up on the bed and Mom's face was in the way and I scratched her lip! But I was sorry and she didn't try and trim my nails because she knows better.

Surely Dante didn't mean it. He looks so innocent! Heh heh

I am very bad about getting my nails trimmed. I have bitten and scratched Mommy more than once. Last time she decided that I was not going to be the boss anymore. She set a bag of treats in front of me and gave me a treat after each nail clip. If I really struggled, she gave me one first and clipped a nail while I was still crunching my treat. She got all 18 toes at once for the first time ever. -Riley

As always, I am the good one. I have even gotten my nails trimmed with the woofie's big nose on my belly. Annoying, but I know there will be treats at the end. -Tiki

I run around in circles at toe trimming time, but I am still way better than Riley. Hope your owie heals quickly. -Kesey

Awww! I trim the girls' claws. Usually I sneak up on them when they're sleepy... lol

Dante, this is not your fault. If you need representation, there are several Cats Esq. who can help you fight any false charges.

Our big man cat brother Kelly once scratched his human, but there wasn't any trouble because the human knew that the reason a cat has claws is to scratch things, therefore a cat who scratches is a Good Cat.

Ow! Toeshee left a lovely scratch on my nose a few months ago. My fault of course. ;)
I'm sure Dante is very sorry!

We know Dante is very sorry. Accidents happen. ~Socks, Scylla, Charybdis & Fenris

PS: Our Mommy knows a worse place. Charybdis got her on the lip. That is a very bad place for an ouchie. It hurt every-time Mommy tried to eat or drink.

I'm sure it was an accident, Dante, but you really should allow your Mom to trim your claws.

PS to your Mom: Only 1 kittie here willing has claws trimmed - Rascal. Sunny has to be held tight by his Daddy while I trim. Ollie has to be wrapped like a tight burrito in a heavy shirt so she doesn't scratch her Daddy all up. Recently we've waited to do the Sunny and Ollie until they're heavily asleep. It helps a little. Sometimes we're only able to do the front before they're squirming too much to continue.

I do that to my mum as well sometimes Dante. It is not our fault, it is their fault for not moving fast enough when we play.

Why did you do that to your loving mom? Anyway, I'm sure it was an accident...

Cheers,

Rosa

oh my. It's true that little kitties are very busy. If you handle his paws regularly then he'll get used to the clipping. We think.

Put some tea tree oil on that scratch!

I don't blame you for a minute, getting your nails cut is pure torture.

Well. These things happens. We try to minimize the damage, but sometimes those humans are just too clumsy and slow.
