We are so excited that the tomatoes have started sprouting in our newspaper pots. The newspaper when planted will biodegrade into the soil within 2-3 weeks. So the roots will just grow through it in no time!
We also read a cool article in Better Homes and Gardens where they planted seeds in eggshells. The eggshells will also turn into compost for the soil so it's such a great organic way to grow seedlings! Here we are growing radishes. So awesome!
Next week we are cutting the sod out of the garden and building a fence. More photos to come!

I love to garden. (I have a blog: http://gardeninginthezone.blogspot.com). I have never heard of using egg shells. That is a great idea; especially using the carton to hold them up. I will have to give that a try. Next week, I will start my seed starts.
