Dante's Manicure

Dante has really really sharp claws. And he likes to use them to scratch us and the other cats. He does the bitey so its very hard to trim his nails. My husband and I have come up with a good way to give him a manicure. He holds Dante with oven mitts so if he bites, it doesn't hurt, then I come in with the clippers. It's not pretty, and it's embarrassing, but it does the job.

Dat's how mom and dad do Sadie's pawdicures too, 'cept she don't bite so dad doesn't need da falconers gloves. He always sez he's gonna hold her "pointy side out" so mom can do da clipping.

Whatever works is good! The best thing is to get kittens used to it when they're very small!

Ollie is our hardest one to trim nails on. Her Daddy has to wrap her up tight in a heavy canvas shirt, pull out one paw for me at a time. We feel we've done good to get both front paws done. She doesn't bite, but she squirms and flails (and scratches) to try to get away.

You gotta do what you gotta do! Nail trimming is not a fun thing for me or mommie.

Welding gloves are good too. Some are oddly thinner bit stronger.

My mom's oven mitts look like lobsters. We aren't sure if that is good or not for us in the future, now that she has read your post.

We never get our nails trimmed! But we go outside so we not only need them but we trim them ourselves by climbing trees and stuff!

Hahaha.... I am lucky the Spice Cats do not give him any problem when it comes to claw trimming.

My mom doesn't need mitts so much as ear protection! As a matter of fact, you all may have heard Caroline screaming just last night!

Very clever. Java actually doesn't mind having his nails trimmed so I'm lucky.
