The Staredown

This staredown reminds me of two western cowboys about to have a fight. Dante is still as bad as ever, and can't be trusted without his leash. He always lunges after Sebastian and Yaffa and wants to give them a big bitey and scratches. Dante kitty has to learn to be in the same room with them without wanting to hurt them. I'm starting to feel like that day will never come.

I remember feeling like that very recently. It took Georgia months to learn that she isn't supposed to bite the others. And she still does it sometimes, knowing she'll be in trouble. Still making progress though.

I hope Dante adjusts soon and forgets about the bitey thing.

Dante, are you ever going to calm down and be a nice, friendly meezer? You are giving us a bad name.

I think you should not interfear, then they settle their problems alone. It always looks as they would kill each other. What you could use is a water pistol and when he is too agressive just shoot !
When Pookie and Kim moved in (they belonged to my son) there were also fights about who is the boss ! and still today except Arthur, Rosie isn't accepted by the others, they all hiss at her !

I hope Dante starts acting right. We have staredowns at my house too but with my brother Bear.

I'd keep him on a leash, too, until you can trust him.

The staredown is an excellent technique to perfect. Better than the hissey-bitey stuff.
