Sebastian's new pillow

Sebastian has found a new place to hang out. This pile of magazines has been his new favorite pillow. I always see him leaning against it. It is the cutest thing ever. He's such a smart cat.

I have a question for the cat bloggers out there. Ever since we've moved into a new place, Yaffa cat has been having accidents on the couch. Does anyone know of a good way to prevent this from happening. We've tried everything from orange peels to orange sprays, which I read, cats were supposed to hate the smell of. Apparently, Yaffa doesn't care about the smell of oranges.

If anyone has any advice, please leave us a note.

Visit this week's modulator.

Your feline friend is trying to get to grips with the new environment by either leaving some scent on the place, or protesting about the move. Either way the behaviour is natural and difficult to halt immediately.

Feliway is the best thing I know to stop this kind of behaviour. It's usually sold as a spray. Micro-wave foil might work as a deterrent as well for the cats have the stuff underpaw.

Before you do anything else, have the couch steam cleaned, and have them use an enzymatic cleanser. You can't just cover the smell -- you have to completely eliminate it. Then follow what Babeth says.

We feel your pain... a neighbor cat started roaming into our yard, and Nicky (el Gatito Perfecto) began spraying in the master bedroom.

Our vet told us the threatening situation had to stop before Nicky's behavior would stop. If the problem is territorial, Yaffa may have to be limited to one room until she gets used to things.

Oh boy do I know about your pain! lol! I'm following these comments in hope of finding a solution to my own similar problem!:-)
Right now I have no bath mats in my bathroom. I have had to throw every single one out because Max refuses to pee anywhere else once there is a bathmat in sight. :-( I have tried the feliway and it just seems to attract him even more.

Funny enough, once there is no bathmat on the floor he doesn't pee in the bathroom. Strange, no?

If you do find something that works, please be sure to post and let us know. ;-)
