Mesmerized by the presents

Sebastian was completely in awe of all the Christmas presents we had accumulated in the apartment. He was so curious as to where all these bags and packages had come from. He was mesmerized by it all. I'm sure he was thinking, hope some of these are for me. If not, I'll just claim them as my own anyway. Hope everyone had a great holiday!!

Cold nights = lots of hugs

Winter is definitely in full swing. Our apartment gets pretty drafty and cold. So it's no surprise that the cats love to hug each other to stay snuggly warm. It's so cute. The 3rd photo is especially cute. If you look closely, you can see Yaffa has her arm around Sebastian and Sebastian has his arm around yaffa. Awwwww.

Mommy Kisses

Mommy likes to give Sebastian a bath, which I call mommy kisses. I always catch them grooming each other. It's the cutest thing ever.

Mid afternoon nap

The cats love to take afternoon naps. Especially Yaffa. Look how sweet she looks. This is such a great photo of her. She looks so relaxed.

My Tree

This week, we got our Christmas tree. And ever since, the cats have been hanging out underneath it. They love it, they've been taking a nap under the tree. And checking out the presents. Little kitties, they love Christmas just as much as we do!

Checking out mom and dad's new toy

So this weekend, we were installing our new "toy" and Christmas present to ourselves. Sebastian was admiring the installation and checking out what all the fuss was about. He thought the Toy was ok. He still prefers his mouseys more than this flat screen thing.

Free Cat Toy

A new Petco opened up near my parent's house. They went to check it out during the grand opening and Petco was giving away toys to celebrate the store opening. So Sebastian and Yaffa got some fun toys to play with. One of the toys was pretty neat, you hang it in a door way, and there is a string tied to a white furry mousey. Oh boy, did Sebastian love that toy. First he loves furry mouseys but put it on a string and instant P A R T Y.

Lap Cat

Sebastian Kitty has slowly become a lap cat. When he feels like cuddling, he'll jump in Kyle's lap so he can get a pat of the head, and rub of the belly. As a kitten, he didn't like to cuddle like that. But he just turned 2, maybe with age, he's wanting more huggy time.

We received our email today for the Winter Secret paws. We are sooooo excited since we missed out on the last Secret Paws. We can't wait to get the package together! It is going to be so much fun!

Sitting Pretty

The cats had a fun time over the Thanksgiving holiday. We had friends over for a party, and the cats were mingling with the visitors. When all had left, they were tired out, so they took some time to relax.

Enjoying Some Art

I just recently bought this print at a design festival. Took it home and found a nice frame for it. We were getting ready to hange it on the wall, when we noticed someone else admiring the artwork. What a cultural kitty!

One Sleepy Cat

I've taken a lot of photos of Sebastian kitty sleeping, but this by far is one of my all time favorites. I love his pink pad feet. It makes me want to tickle his feet. But I wouldn't do that to him. He gets mad too easily. Oh, but it would be fun!

Cat Bed

The kitty's cat bed transforms from a bed to a tunnel like fluffy box. When we first did that, the cats were so fascinated by it. In these photos, Yaffa is in the tunnel, and look at Sebastian investigating it, trying to get in too. However, the tunnel can only fit one cat at a time. So in the 2nd photo, Sebastian is awaiting patiently for Yaffa to exit so he could take a turn.

A soft spot

We have at the foot of our bed a wooden chest, that we keep extra blankets on top of. The cats discovered this as a great, soft spot to sleep. Don't they look like mirror images of each other! Precious.

So Comfortable

Boy does Sebastian kitty know how to nap. Here he is taking a snooze, while Mommy Yaffa looks on. Doesn't he look totally comfortable? Ah, if only we all can sleep so peacefully!

Sebastian Close Up

Sometimes I get lucky and I can catch Sebastian in a closeup photo without him freaking out and running away from the camera. Usually Sebastian is a bit quick and camera shy when he knows I am trying to take a photo of him. And I usually end up with blurry out of focus shots because he's running away. But this one day, Sebastian was feeling particularly photogenic. So I was able to get this great closeup shot of him.

More sister photos!

Here are some more photos of Sebastian's sisters and Yaffa's kids. We've been told that they are just as playful as little Sebastian. It is so nice to hear from them, 2 years since their adoption. They recently just had a birthday, October 10th. Happy 2nd birthday, sweet cats! Hopefully one day we can arrange a family reunion!

Sebastian's sisters

We received some great photos of Sebastian's sisters last week. We are so happy to hear that the girls are doing so well. And that they cuddle with each other just like Yaffa Mommy cat and Sebastian. When the litter was born, we were worried that we couldn't find good homes for them. But we are estatic and thrilled that all are doing fine. The photo on the top are the sisters today. And the photo on the bottom, is Sebastian on the left, and his two sisters on the right, when they were just about 4 weeks old. OMG, how adorable they are now and then.

You are not allowed on top of there.

Sebastian knows he's not allowed on certain furniture. But frankly, he doesn't really care. Even though I am standing next to him taking his photo, he barely acknowledges me. He goes, right on napping on the red cabinet that he's not allowed on. The reason he's not allowed on that cabinet is because sometimes in the morning, we've seen that someone has been fiddling with the potted plant on the cabinet. You can see the potted plant right behind his head. We've seen traces of soil on the floor and kitty brown footprints trampled all over the top of the cabinet. Sebastian however is never one to really listen. He sleeps where ever he pleases. He seems to be saying, complain all you want mom, I'm still going to do whatever I damn please. :) My little kitty. He's lucky he's so cute. :)

Twins again

I caught the kitties being twins again. Aren't they just adorable with the exact same pose? Sebastian loves to copy Yaffa mommy cat. Funny kitties. I love when I catch them in these cute photo opportunities. You have to be quick though because, sometimes they see me coming, and before you know it, they move so you can't take the photo.

Yaffa closeup

Sometimes, Yaffa gets really affectionate, where she has to be up close and personal. It doesn't happen very often, since she was a street cat, and is often skittish. Here she is, rubbing her head against my camera phone. She is so sweet. What a cute kitty.

Mom, Your Feet!

Sebastian and Yaffa were hanging out one day. And her feet was stretched out over Sebastians. Little Sebastian looks like he saying, aw ma, your feet!!

Soaking in the sun

Yaffa found a great spot to nap. The sun was beaming in through the living room window, and Yaffa stretched out to catch the warm rays. Doesn't she look so relaxed?

Sound Asleep

Sebastian has a fun time sleeping. Look how comfortable he is. Though, I try not to let him notice me take pictures of him when he's sleeping. Because he gets mad. But look at him. So cute.

Lazy Afternoon

Isn't it nice when you can have a lazy afternoon with not a worry in the world? Look how relaxed the kittys look! If only I could be a cat.

Sebastian absolutely hates it when he's awoken from a cat nap. He likes to give the dirtiest meanest look little kitty can give. Here, it looks like he's saying, "What the heck are you looking at?"

Sharing a Bed

The new kitty bed has gotten a lot of attention. In fact, both kitties love it so much they both hog it. Take a look at how they both cram themselves into the bed. Though Sebastian gets annoyed easily and usually gives up and abandons the bed first. They do look adorable together in the cat bed all snuggled up.

Big hugs.

Isn't it great to have someone there who you can give a hug. Or receive hugs from. Sebastian kitty is a momma's boy. He loves to still snuggly up to his mommy even though he is almost 2 years old. He is turning 2 next Month. Boy has he grown. To me, he is still my little kitten, playful as ever.

Hiding in the Closet

I always wonder how my clothes in the closet is riddled with cat hair. Then, once I heard noises coming from the closet, and when I opened the door, little Sebastian's head pops out. Sebastian loves this favorite hideaway.

Not allowed up there!

In the middle of the night, Sebastian likes to jump on the dining room table. He knows he is not allowed up there, but at night, when he thinks no one is watching, he jumps up there to relax. That is until we see him on the table and shoo him off.

Baby Birds

This photo is not of our cats. But I thought I would post because it is so cute and because Sebastian and Yaffa love birds! My sister, early in the summer was on the way to work one day, and she saw these baby birds fell out of the nest and onto the grass. In fact, the entire nest fell out of the tree and onto the lawn below. She took a little scooper and scooped each bird up back into the nest and perched it high into the tree. You can't touch baby birds with human hands, because the mommy bird will smell the human scent and abandon the birds. After my sister helped the birds back up the tree, she closely monitored them for weeks. Then, one day, all the birds were grown up and flew away!

So Much New Stuff!

Our friend Ruth got a present from our friend Adriana. A cool cat bed for her little kitty Suki. Though, Suki never was into the bed at all, never sat in it, and was never too interested in sleeping anywhere else but the couch and the human bed. So Ruth gave us the cat bed to try out on Yaffa and Sebastian. Within the first hour of bringing the bed home, I caught both Yaffa and Sebastian literally fighting over the new cat bed. They really enjoy the soft plushy cushions, not to mention, it looks cute too!

New Litter Maid - Gift from the Heavens

We recently splurged on a new item for the kitties! And boy, we all couldn't be happier. The cats are so excited about their new "toy" also. Whenever the cats do their thing, they love to jump out of the Litter Maid, and watch the rakes go back and forth and clean up. The cats are completely mesmerized and fascinated by it. Even better, Yaffa has really liked using this new litter box and has stopped making accidents on the couch! I (heart) litter maid!!

Worth every penny!

Twins

The cats love to mimic each other when they sleep. Here they are in the exact same positions sleeping like twins.

Sebastian's new pillow

Sebastian has found a new place to hang out. This pile of magazines has been his new favorite pillow. I always see him leaning against it. It is the cutest thing ever. He's such a smart cat.

I have a question for the cat bloggers out there. Ever since we've moved into a new place, Yaffa cat has been having accidents on the couch. Does anyone know of a good way to prevent this from happening. We've tried everything from orange peels to orange sprays, which I read, cats were supposed to hate the smell of. Apparently, Yaffa doesn't care about the smell of oranges.

If anyone has any advice, please leave us a note.

Hide and Go Seek

Many apologies for not posting to the kitty blog lately. We were on vacation and out of the country, with no access to the internet. But now we are back, despite the cats being mad at us for not bringing them. They had a good time though, since we had our brother look after Sebastian and Yaffa. And they were having fun with showing him "around" the apartment. Check out the new game they like to play. Hide and go seek!

Rock a Bye Baby

Sebastian kitty was sleeping curled up next to me one day as I was reading a magazine in bed. You can see me in this photo on the bottom, right are my glasses. I had to take a closeup of him napping. He looks so peaceful and sound asleep. Though, 2 seconds after I took this photo, he opened his eyes, and gave me a dirty look for waking him. Little kitty, I can't help but want to cuddle him when he's this cute!!

Great portrait

I absolutely adore these photos! The cats like to do this thing when they think no one is watching. They sit next to each other and look like they are telling each other secrets. I was on the computer one day, when I looked over to the bed, and I saw the cats sitting side by side. I grabbed the cellphone camera and quickly took these photos of Yaffa and Sebastian. Look how Sebastian kitty on the right is sitting so politely with his arms folded up in front of him. How completely regal! But on closeup on photo 2, check out Yaffa's grin and Sebastian's smirk! She looks like she just told Sebastian the best secret!!
