Making biscuits

Sebastian has this favorite blanket that we keep on the couch. The blanket is furry and warm, and almost everyday he sits next to me and makes biscuits. The blanket is very cozy and snuggly, and maybe why he likes to make biscuits on it.

Not a Happy Camper

This is a photo of my niece playing with Dante. She adores him and cat sits from time to time when we are away. On this particular day, she was playing with the webcam on my computer. Doesn't Dante look happy, um NOT. Hahaha, his face in this photo is priceless!

Snowed In

We are feeling pretty snowed in today. A big winter storm dumped over 2 feet of snow in our area. This is our 3rd big storm we've had this winter. It's a good reason to do some baking! We turned this Long Island squash into bread. Long Island cheese is like pumpkin but not orange, more of a tan color. It tasted just like pumpkin bread. Yummy!

Sleepy Time

Sebastian is so adorable when he is sleeping. Here he is sleeping right next to me on the couch. He loves to curl his paw right up next to his face. Like a little baby. Rock a bye baby. zzzzz zzzzz

I have to hold back from wanting to pick him up and cuddle him. So sweet!

Lounge Kitties

When we are lounging on the couch, the cats always want to sit on top of us! This is their usual spot. The cats sit on the couch everyday so even if we are on the couch, that doesn't stop them.

Cousin Rocky

This is our cousin Rocky. He lives in upstate NY. We were looking at old photos and found this one that we thought was funny. Here he is wearing his new red snow shoes. He wasn't thrilled with the shoes that's why he was given a bone. Hehe. A good trade if you ask me.

Meet Mark! I'm a New Rep!

I finally took the plunge to change my work situation. I was laid off over a year ago and I still have yet to find a full time job. I've never thought how hard it was to find employment again, but then again, this economy has been in the dumps. Then my friend suggested that I become a makeup rep. I've used Mark before and love their products. Their moisturizer is excellent! And in this harsh winter I need something that really moisturizes. It has SPF 30 so it protects you from the sun.

Groom Me

The cats have a routine. Every day they groom each other. It's so cute. I love the 2nd photo where Yaffa's tongue is sticking out. Adorable!

We got a ton of snow today. But I'm tired of talking about it and hearing about it. All day, all we heard was Blizzard of 2010 all over ever news channel. We are thinking about warm weather, enough of this snow!

That's a funny word

We were leaving a comment on one of our friend's kitty blogs and we couldn't stop laughing about this word verification. Hahahaha!

Who comes up with these word verifications?

Cuddling

Yaffa is never much of a cuddler. She doesn't like to be picked up and hugged. She gets all nervous and starts waving her arms if you pick her up. But on this day, when I was on the couch on the computer, she kept on jumping on me and sitting on my lap and sitting on my shoulder.
Ahh, here she is sticking her butt in my face. Yuk.

She can be a cuddler on her own terms. She is so sweet. Here she is giving head butts.

Having Fun with Cigar Nip

When we played Paw It Forward, we got this awesome Cigar Nip from the kitties at Forty Paws. The cats love playing with this toy. Check out Yaffa, she's hugging it so much that the photo is super blurry!

It's Me Dante!

In our last post we asked if you could guess who was playing hide and seek. Check out who was hiding behind the bed sheet. It's me! Dante kitty. This is his favorite game. He loves to play hide and seek, especially with daddy bean!

Secret Paws.....

I know, I know, the kitties have been pestering me because of my delayed postings on the blog lately. I'm so busy with work and backed up. I was supposed to post this way back in December, but got really behind.

At long last, here are photos from our Secret Paws package we received from Sir Woody. It had the most awesome things in the package, including this mouse on a stick, that looked like a real mouse and made squeaky noises. We wanted to thank Sir Woody for all the cool stuff! Sorry it's such a belated thank you.

Unfortunately we don't know Sir Woody's blog address, so hopefully he'll see our blog post! Does anyone know what is Sir Woody's blog?

Biggest. Mouse. Ever!

Dante loves mouse toys that have fur on it. The furrier the better. So when our friend Ruth gave him a giant furry mouse, oh man was he happy. Here he is just before he was going to pounce on it.

Look at the size of this thing. It's as big as a can of cat food!

Composting!

Now that we finally have a backyard, one of the things I've always wanted to do is to compost!! It's funny that something like this gets me so happy and excited, but the idea that I can play my little part in helping the environment and creating less waste for landfills really makes my day! Check out our new composter!! It's so cool, you put the scraps in, and once in awhile you shake it up to mix everything together. I can't wait until spring to see the compost we created!

My Kind of Mice

For Christmas, our dear friend Gina gave us a box of chocolates. What a surprise, when we opened the box, they were the shape of little mice! How cute are these? Now even we beans like to eat mice too!!

My New Couch!

This is our new couch, and look at who's already claimed their spots!

Sebastian's Favorite Window

Now that we have our own backyard, the cats have been really enjoying looking outside the window. This is Sebastian's favorite window spot. He can spend all day there looking for birdies and squirrels. Also, once in a while we see the neighbor's cat! That is also a treat!

Winter snuggle and nap

In this cold weather, the only thing that one should do is snuggle up and take a nap. Look at these two, like mirror images of each other!

Caught Red Handed

I am not sure why Sebastian has grown to like the toilet. He has a full water bowl and yet, we always find him on top of the toilet. Therefore, we keep the lid down at all times now. I think he likes to play with the water in the bowl. We have seen him use his paw to scoop water out. Silly kitty!

Yaffa's Favorite Spot

Yaffa has her own favorite spot in the new house. She likes to sleep in the TV cabinet. It scares me when she does this because sometimes we close the door not realizing she is in the cabinet. But then she cries and cries until she gets out. I think she likes it in there because its cozy.

New Favorite Spot

It did not take long for Sebastian to find his new favorite spot in the new house.

We have moved to.....

STATEN ISLAND!!! Thanks to everyone that guess the name of the bridge contest! The right answer is Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, and is the suspension bridge that connects Brooklyn to Staten Island. The bridge is over 2 miles long, and since its so long, when building it, the engineers had to consider the curvature of the earth. How cool is that!

We are going to have a drawing this week to pick the winner of the contest. For all those who guessed correctly, GOOD LUCK! Hope you win the prizes!

Moving and Contest!

When we were getting ready for the move, we had boxes everywhere!! The cats were surprised we had brought home so many boxes to play with. They were so happy to be jumping around the boxes and hiding in them. Here's a great photo of Yaffa being the Queen of boxes.
In our last post we had a photo of the bridge near our house and no one knew which bridge it was. So we thought....What a great way to have a CONTEST. Correctly name this bridge and be entered into our Holiday Contest and win a prize!

Here is a close up of the bridge. This might help you out. Good luck!

We moved!

The cats are a bit miffed at us..... because we moved! And they have to get used to a new house and new house smells. I'll post photos of the new place soon. For now, here is a picture to provide a hint to where we moved to. Do you know what bridge this is, and where we went?

Thanksgiving yummies!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. We just moved into a new house last week, and we decided to have the family over for Turkey day. Most of our things are still in boxes in the basement, but we unpacked the dining and kitchen so we can do lots of yummy cooking.

Here are some pictures of the food I made.
Pigs in a blanket. My all time favorite appetizer!

Acorn squash soup. This was the first I made this. It was actually pretty easy and delicious. The acorn squash was grown on the family farm. Organic, sweet and delcious!

The cats hid the whole time that my family was over. Loud noises scare them. Thus my family always say, where are the cats? We don't think you really have any. Hahaha
