Bad Kitty's love Scritches
Dante Kitty, as bad as he is, he's still a kitty who loves attention. He loves to get scratches under his chin. But, scratcher beware, when he's through with you, he gives you a little bite. Ouch!

Mexican Friends
When we were in Mexico, we saw a lot of street cats. They were very friendly when you ate at the street cafes / restaurants. One night, we were having Italian at this nice restaurant that opens out into the street, and we had 2 street cat visitors. They literally walk right up to your table, and sit right next to you begging for food. For the most part, they were really friendly. I guess they were so friendly because all the tourists feed them. Cute gatos, wish I could take them home.

Backlogged on photos!
I am so behind on posting photos. I am just digging myself out!
Here, I am finally posting my photos from when we went Apple picking last month. We went the day after we got married in upstate NY. We went to Dubois Farms right outside New Paltz, NY. What an amazing farm!!
There were so many apple trees with really delicious apples. Royal Gala, Rome, Macintosh, Granny Smith, Macoun, Red Delicious, you name it, they had it! We picked enough for an apple pie.
The farm also had some other amazing fruit, like Concord grapes. These are great for making jelly.
On the farm, there was also an amazing corn field maze. It was pretty neat to walk through it, and got pretty lost.
And don't forget the pumpkim patch! So cool! So many pumpkins to choose from!

Mexican food = YUM
I'm still up, a bit of insomnia here. And feeling hungry, so I thought I'd post some cool photos of the food we ate in Mexico. This was our first dinner in Mexico! Shrimp and Codfish with lobster sauce over rice. Talk about seafood heaven!
This was our free breakfast, ham and cheese tortillas, cappuccino and oj. So good.
Mexico is known for its superb street food. One day we stopped for some tacos! Tacos de bistek y carnitas. YUM!
We drank A LOT of margaritas!!
We had Mayan food, this was fajita shrimp and onions with corn tortilla.
And also, corn with mayo, cheese, lime and chili pepper. So delicious!
For dessert, we went for these delicious fruit pops. It was literally 100% fruit juice with sugar frozen on a pop. My favorite was Limon, which is lime juice. YUM.
Doesn't this make you hungry???

Belly rubs!
Lately, Sebastian kitty has warmed up to me. He usually is not cuddly with me, (mom), only to dad. But the other day, I was blogging on the laptop on the couch when he jumped up to sit next to me. There was a reason for all the cuddling. He was seeking a nice belly rub. What kitty doesn't like a good belly rub!

Mexico Iguanas
Finally, I've had the chance to download some more photos from our honeymoon in Mexico. We saw some amazing animals while we were there. In particular, when we went to Tulum, we saw really amazing wild iguanas. They were everywhere you went. Really big ones, and really tiny ones. They were amazing, sitting by the beach, basking in the sun, it was so cool.
I Can Be a Lap Kitty
Dante showing his love, he is definitely a lap kitty.... although, we still have to use the leash on him. When do kitty's calm down? He's very aggressive towards the other cats still... attacking them, running after them and biting them. I hope one day I can leave them all in the same room and they can all get along.

Raising Awareness for Animal Adoption: Home 4 the Holidays
Hello friends,
As the Holidays quickly approaches, here is a good cause I wanted to let everyone know about. I know the cat and furry friends blogging community already support shelters nationwide, but it's always good to remind friends and family and anyone considering getting a pet around the Holiday season to choose one from a shelter rather than a pet store--and save a cat's life (or another shelter animal's life) in the process.
There is a new program called, "Home 4 the Holidays" which is promoting pet adoption through shelters. Here is a link where you can find participating shelters and pet rescue organizations near you! http://www.animalcenter.org/home4theholidays/
If you can't adopt a pet, this season, why not donate to your favorite participating shelter: http://www.animalcenter.org/home4theholidays/shelter_map.aspx
As an owner of 3 cats who were all strays or product of a abandoned stray, this cause is near and dear to us. We can attest that stray and abandoned animals are very loving and loyal and just need your love and attention.
thanks,
Yaffa, Sebastian & Dante's mom bean

What a Historic Vote!
What an amazing day this will be written into history! It is so amazing that this country is ready for change and a new perspective in the US government! I went to vote today, and was startled by the fact that the voting machine in my district 89 in Brooklyn was using a really antique looking voting machine. I wonder how in this modern day we can have such obsolete voting machines still in use. It wasn't even clear to me if the vote had counted, it had this huge red lever that you pull after you select who you are voting for.
Why aren't the same voting machines used in every single state in the US??
Click on this link to see what the voting machine looks like. I didn't take a picture of the machine because there was a line behind me and I was afraid I'd get into trouble for taking a photo, but I did find an example online, see below. Apparently these machines are about 50 years old. Yikes.
