Fun times!

The cats received so many toys for Christmas. Instead of giving them all the toys at once, we are saving them and giving them new toys as others are destroyed. Dante has gone through quite a few new toys, he rips them to shreds, especially the mouse ones. We busted open this new toy. Its a fevver ball on a stick. His favorite kind of toy. Look how much fun he is having with it. Fun times!!

Seafood Feast

The other day, I cooked a seafood feast!! We are fortunate enough to be able to get the freshest seafood where we live and fairly inexpensive. So I made fried giant oysters and mussels with white wine. The cats were loving the smells, they were circling us for a taste. Haha :)

Dante's Manicure

Dante has really really sharp claws. And he likes to use them to scratch us and the other cats. He does the bitey so its very hard to trim his nails. My husband and I have come up with a good way to give him a manicure. He holds Dante with oven mitts so if he bites, it doesn't hurt, then I come in with the clippers. It's not pretty, and it's embarrassing, but it does the job.

Beautiful spring day!

It was a beautiful spring day with the sun shining, and it felt good to feel the warm sun. It's still somewhat chilly out at 53 degrees but much better than what we have been getting. The cats were staring at the window a sign that I should open it for them to sit on the sill. As soon as I opened the window, the cats sniffed the spring air. Ahhhh, how they love to relax on the window sill and watch the neighborhood birds, "pigeons". Sebastian gets especially excited. He wants to catch one. :)

Yaffa Lap Kitty

Not to be out done by Dante as the couch buddy, Yaffa says, well if you are the couch buddy, I am the lap buddy. Take that Dante!! I am so proud of Yaffa. As a former stray cat, she has really outgrown her shyness and is now a full fledge cuddler. It makes me so happy!!

My couch buddy

During the day when I'm on the couch, I have a couch buddy. He likes to sit right next to me, and sometimes, he likes to sit on my lap. Dante is so affectionate when he wants to be. It has to be on his terms. I like it when he sits right next to me. He's my little buddy.

Update: I just "wiped" Dante's butt. He had a piece of poop hanging from it. Does this ever happen to any other cat owners. At least twice a month, there is always poop stuck on his butt. Eeeeek!

Dante Dozing

Whenever I see Dante sleeping like an angel, I always think, How can a kitty so cute be so bitey mean? Dante still hasn't outgrown his need to bite. I had to intervene him lunge after Yaffa last night, he had his bitey ready, and I put my hand out to grab him and he bit me. Dante!!

But when he sleeps like this, I can't but help forgive him.


I am so excited, I bought tickets for a Depeche Mode concert at Madison Square Garden. I am sooo excited. I saw them 2 years ago and the show was sooo amazing! What is not amazing is that when you buy tickets Ticketmaster charges $10.45 convenience charge per ticket and $3.15 processing charge. If that isn't robbery, I don't know what is. I think it's so annoying that they charge a $13.60 fee to buy tickets. What a rip off!

Hugging

I love how when we aren't watching, Sebastian and Yaffa do things that are so amazing. Here, I caught Sebastian hugging Yaffa mommy kitty. See how his arms are around her? I love how affectionate he is to his mommy. Now, if only Dante could learn to be this nice to his adoptive family of kitties.

Sunrays

It's a grey, rainy day out for the 2nd day in a row. It's pretty dreary out. Drizzling wet rain. So I thought I publish a photo of Yaffa enjoying a sunray. I just love this photo! It makes me smile on this blah grey day.

Dante discovers laundry

This is the first time I ever saw Dante jump into the laundry basket. Every once in awhile when I go to do laundry I find toy mice hidden in the clothes. Now I know how it got there!!

Long Sebastian

I snapped this photo of Sebastian the other day. The way he was lying made him look so long and lean. He is so long that his head goes off the couch. Every once in awhile I think to myself that when he was a kitten, he fit in one hand. Boy, has he grown up!

Window Watching

Dante discovered the window with the air conditioner. He likes to stand on top and look outside the window. There are pigeons that like to sit on the other side of the air conditioner and Dante gets excited watching them. He also likes to chew on the leaves of the bonsai plant too. I don't like it when he does that. I scold him when he does, but he tries to get away with it! He's so sneaky!

Amaryllis

It's been snowing a lot the last few days. We have about 7 inches on the ground! Just when we thought spring was here. I thought we could use a pick me up around here, so here is a photo of the Amaryllis plant that we had blooming last month. I love these plants, they make me so happy.

Yaffa's New Sleeping Spot

Lately, Yaffa has really loved sleeping on top of the couch. She never really liked doing that before. I guess it allows her some distance from the other cats. She looks so adorable sleeping in a ball like that.
